VB Media supports Tradeprint’s expansion into Irish market

Print Solutions

VB Media has recently helped Tradeprint to successfully expand its offering into the Irish market with a new web to print platform. By leveraging VB Media’s print e-commerce solutions, Tradeprint was able to establish a dedicated Irish storefront, allowing the company to serve new customers without the challenges of a complex set up.

Headquartered in Dundee, Tradeprint is a dedicated trade printer servicing print resellers, print managers, print companies, graphic designers, and print brokers.

E-commerce has always been at the core of Tradeprint’s operations with the business having launched its first platform in 2008. Starting out with eBay and Amazon Stores selling business cards and flyers, the company later took its job sheet, created an online order form, and built a website.

Tradeprint’s relationship with VB Media began seven years ago when the two partnered to seamlessly offer the printer’s products through a VB Media website via the (then) newly created Tradeprint Connect API. The integration was created to offer an off the shelf solution to those that wanted to leverage the company’s new API, but without the expense of having its own developers create a solution.

Printers with a VB Media web to print solution can add Tradeprint products to their site in a matter of seconds and then send an order seamlessly with just a few clicks, making it simple and seamless to sell more print online without the investment in development, equipment, or a production facility.

Gavin De Boos, director of VB Media, said: ‘What started as a handshake agreement has gone from strength to strength. We now have just shy of 300 websites connected to the Tradeprint Connect API and this continues to grow.’

Identifying an opportunity to service Ireland, having done so previously through Tradeprint’s former Exaprint UK brand before it was retired, the company decided to build on this relationship and partner with VB Media for the implementation of a new Ireland site.

However, expanding into Ireland presented challenges, including regional tax and VAT differences, area code adaptations, and localised courier services. To overcome these obstacles, Tradeprint needed a partner who could provide a robust and flexible e-commerce solution while maintaining the high standards of service their customers expect.

VB Media had recently enhanced its platform to accommodate businesses expanding into new regions meaning the company was well equipped and ready to support the launch. Coupled with Tradeprint’s robust and mature API technology and in-house developers enabling new products to be added easily in just a few clicks, the implementation process was quick and straightforward with the site ready to go the day after VB Media received the brief.

Tradeprint’s sales and customer success director and sustainability lead, Anthony Rowell, said: '‘It has been a seven year plus relationship, based on a handshake. VB Media looks after customers in the way we do. We see it as a true partner which is enthusiastic, professional – it is one of the easiest relationships we have ever had. We have been super impressed with the service, the simplicity of updating the site, and the flow of orders. At the price point, we have great support and a very attractive website driven by the best software development. I am very impressed.’
