Ulma Packaging to showcase innovative automation at Foodex 2025

Packaging Solutions

Leading packaging machinery manufacturer, Ulma Packaging UK, is set to make a strong impression at Foodex 2025, taking place at NEC Birmingham on 7 to 9 April. Located at stand Q90 and stand Q100, the company will showcase a selection of high performance packaging solutions designed to improve efficiency, automation and sustainability across multiple food sectors.

Visitors to the stands will have the opportunity to see live demonstrations of the latest packaging technologies in action. The TSA 680 S, incorporating a tray denester, will demonstrate a seamless packaging process. Trays will be automatically fed onto a belt, loaded with product, and then sealed – illustrating an efficient and reliable system. The TFS 300 thermoformer will feature a multihead weigher system, dropping simulated prawns into a cavity before hermetically sealing them in a modified atmosphere. This demonstration highlights a fully automated weighing and packaging solution, showcasing how Ulma optimises packaging efficiency.

Another highlight will be the Sienna LS BI flow wrapper, operating alongside the UFM 300-1 universal forming machine to form play dough into fake meat blocks, before wrapping them using the Sienna. This solution is particularly relevant to the pet food sector, showcasing how Ulma's equipment can cater to a range of applications. The VTI 640 will be on display, offering an insight into the company’s WeCare technologies, including Venturi and TightBag. While this machine will not be running live products, visitors will be able to see its potential in sustainable vertical bagging applications. Also on show will be the FR200 flow wrapper, typically used for packing small items such as breakfast bars, bread rolls, fruit punnets etc.

Elsewhere on stand, a large video wall will showcase the company’s full range of packaging solutions and their benefits across all food sectors. This will include demonstrations of the MyUlma digital platform, an innovative system providing real time machine insights and support, as well as content highlighting its commitment to sustainability through its WeCare technologies and automation solutions.
