Judges at The Stationer’s Company have now whittled down their top picks of the brands going above and beyond in six categories ranging from start ups to education technology.
The winners will be announced on 11 October 2024, at the historic Stationer’s Hall in London, where some of the communications and content industry’s big hitters will come together to find out who has been honoured with a coveted trophy from the Innovation Excellence Awards, now in their 10th year.
Judges review a rigorous set of criteria, including how the innovations improve customer experience, how the innovation meets an unmet need in the market, strength of customer response and scalability for start ups. This ensures that brands that make the shortlist are the best in their field.
This year the judges also looked closely at how brands are performing when it comes sustainability and introduced a new category – education technology – to acknowledge the increasing contribution this area is making to the whole industry.
The six categories are business process, communications including marketing, customer experience, education technology, product design and start ups, categories designed to complement existing industry awards.
The awards are an opportunity for businesses or individuals to celebrate innovation excellence in their fields and to raise awareness for their company or brand. Through the awards, the Stationers’ Company recognises the key role the communications and content industries play in the UK economy, highlights outstanding innovation in the sector and offers the opportunity to share best practice.
Vida Barr-Jones and Kate Howell, the awards co-chairs, said: ‘The Innovation Excellence Awards celebrate the best of the content and communications industry in the UK today.
‘Innovation is distinct from invention, as it does not necessarily entail the creation of something entirely new. Instead, it focuses on introducing novel ideas or enhancing existing ones to meet the needs of customers, industry demands, and societal changes.
‘Innovation is a vital means for organisations to remain relevant, competitive, and responsive in their respective industries and we want to celebrate it.
'We want to extend a huge congratulations to all the shortlisted brands and companies – thry should be very proud of themselves.’
