Mail producers from all corners of the UK will converge on the Phoenix Centre in London for the Strategic Mailing Partnership Summit later this month – and to discover who will walk away with the first ever Strategic Mail Performance Awards.

The summit returns on September 30 after being put on hold last year because of the pandemic. The theme of the 2021 event is shaping the future of mail, specifically in the wake of the global Covid-19 crisis.

Sharing their thoughts will be Royal Mail’s chief executive officer Simon Thompson; chief economist Soterios Soteri; national service delivery director Ricky McAuley; and Richard Travers, revenue integrity and wholesale director.

A series of breakout sessions will consider key market threats and how they can be mitigated before the award winners are revealed.

SMP chair Judith Donovan CBE said, ‘I am delighted that the summit is back for 2021; it is a unique opportunity for mailing houses to get together to swap ideas, advice and to network.

‘The first Strategic Mail Performance Awards have attracted a great deal of interest and the entrants across the board have received some fantastic feedback from the judges. Unlike other awards, the aim is to celebrate the contribution that mailing houses make – an area that has never before been focused on.

‘The standard of entries has been outstanding and I am looking forward to the awards becoming an annual event.’

The full programme is available on the SMP website.
