Rowse Honey launches ‘Paper Snap & Squeeze’, an environmentally friendly single honey portion

Packaging Solutions

Rowse Honey is now available in new and fully recyclable single portion sachets with a wide range of applications for both the retail and food service channels.

Developed by Rowse, ‘Paper Snap & Squeeze’ is an environmentally friendly single portion packaging solution developed to maximise convenience for honey enthusiasts. It comes in 14 g and 2 2g formats, with an innovative fold and snap action to enable easy and mess free dispensing of a single serving of honey.

Already on offer in Pret stores across the UK where it is provided with Pret porridge, the solution has proven highly popular with customers given its convenience, ease of use and green sustainability credentials.

Made from paper, the new sachet format is a packaging sustainability first for single serve solutions in a market dominated by single use plastic.

Samantha MacNamara, senior brand manager at Rowse Honey, said: ‘Paper Snap & Squeeze is an ingenious, mess free, hygienic, and highly convenient way to provide single servings of 100% pure and natural Rowse honey in cafés, restaurants, canteens, delis, hotels, hospitals, food boxes, and a range of other food settings. We also anticipate it becoming a highly popular choice for families, commuters, and anyone on the go as it is ideal for portion control and highly portable.

‘We developed Paper Snap & Squeeze in response to customer and consumer feedback, and know that convenience is a key driver of purchase when it comes to food. This new solution unlocks several new potential channels for Rowse Honey, considering the UK food to go market is forecasted to value £22.2 billion in 2023 with a growth rate of 4.1%.

‘Made from paper, Rowse Paper Snap & Squeeze is fully recyclable and consistent with our sustainability strategy of reducing waste to landfill and limiting our environmental footprint. We are delighted with how well this innovation has been received to date.’
