Proseal’s health and safety commitment recognised

Packaging Solutions

Proseal’s firm commitment to the highest standards of health and safety throughout its operations has been underlined by the company’s success in the Safety & Health Excellence Awards 2022.

The awards celebrate innovation and achievements throughout the sector. Proseal took the top honours in ‘best health and safety in manufacturing’ and was also nominated for the safer logistics award, while the company’s HSE coordinator Adriana Zwolan was highly commended in the rising star category.

The achievements reflect the incredible progress that Proseal has made during 2021 to further improve its health and safety provisions, in particular by increasing engagement from both employees and management. This has created a positive safety culture throughout the company, where health and safety are viewed as the top priority.

Adriana’s Rising Star recognition is a significant achievement as she has only been with Proseal since October 2021. However, during this short time she has already made an impact, completing several important projects, such as the introduction of improved and safer racking systems and a new hearing protection programme.

In the words of HSE manager Barbara Derecka, ‘Adriana demonstrates what new era health and safety practitioners must have: determination, persistence in achieving goals, great communication skills at all levels, a caring attuite and the ability to connect with people.’

Jon Garner, president of the packaging group, said that the success at the awards reflected the importance of health and safety within Proseal and its continued emphasis on improvement across the company in all areas. ‘While we have always had a comprehensive health and safety programme in place, Barbara and Adriana have brought a new focus to this and through their commitment and enthusiasm have made health and safety front of mind for everyone in the company, and taken us to the next level.’
