Packaging Solutions
Creative packaging company Prima Yorkshire is celebrating its 20 year anniversary this month.
After the sad demise of Bradford Boxmakers at the end of 1999, five members of staff decided to set up Prima on their own. At the turn of the millennium they chose the company name, Prima, as it was the initials of the founding partners.
The company started its humble beginnings on 9 November 2000 with limited staff, run from a small factory in Girlington, Bradford.
With a transparent and honest approach the company carefully crafted the business based around quality, service and reliability and with a wealth of knowledge and expertise Prima continued to invest in better machines and employing more staff, some of which Prima is proud to say are still employed and have been for over 15 years.
With an extensive product portfolio ranging from printed and plain folding cartons, corrugated cartons and point of sale, folders and pockets through to ring binders, PVC pockets and paper over-board boxes and folders means Prima serves clients with a broad offering.
Throughout this time three directors retired, Prima streamlined, and carried on investing, and with the additional equipment came a welcomed move into a much larger factory closer to the centre of Bradford, where the company is now located.
In 2015, Jon Simms (pictured left) was welcomed into the management team by the remaining directors, Andrew Birkinshaw (pictured centre) and Richard Cragg (pictured right). Jon brought with him 30 years of luxury packaging design knowledge. His vast experience includes working across Europe and the Far East on brands such as Revlon, Diageo, Nestle, Unilever, Mars and Mondelez (Cadbury’s).
Prima has weathered the storms of the recessions of 2001 and 2008 and is working through the current global crisis. It is confident for the future, has a strong experienced team and is proud to have reached the 20 year mark.
Prima is grateful for loyalty shown by so many customers over the last 20 years and hopes it long continues.
Congratulations Prima!
