Finishing Solutions
P2 Finishing, an owner managed print finishing business based in Dublin, Ireland, has installed a Bobst Novacut 106 E flatbed die cutter as the company looks to update its equipment portfolio.
Since its inception in 2005 primarily as a die cutter to the food and pharmaceutical industries, P2 Finishing has expanded its capacity and capabilities. As well as die cutting, the business also offers folder-gluing, window patching, hand finishing, lamination and spot UV finishing services.
The company has now invested in the Novacut 106 E flatbed die cutter to help it better meet the needs of today’s print customers through enhanced digitalisation and efficiency. The machine is the first Bobst unit installed by the finishing business, replacing an outgoing flatbed die cutter.
Alan Smith, managing director, said: ‘One of the biggest challenges in the print finishing industry is keeping up with volatile demand levels and price pressures – in short, we need to accomplish more with our resources. Our business has developed an outstanding reputation for quality and pinpoint precision, and P2 Finishing proudly invests in technology to give our customers the speed, quality and versatility they need. This makes the Novacut 106 E a dream fit!
‘From an operational standpoint, we know that Bobst has a reputation for quality and accuracy over very long periods of time, so the lifetime cost is extremely attractive for us. We are also given added peace of mind with real time software. With the connected app, I can view our productivity levels, patterns and downtime, as well as access 24 hour technical support. The Novacut 106 E’s versatility also means we can serve new needs with a wider range of material substrates, such as corrugated and plastic. As a trade finisher, attention to detail is paramount. I cannot fault the Bobst team, the process of purchasing, installing and setting up our new investment has been stress free from the start.’
The Novacut 106 E Autoplaten die cutter delivers enhanced versatility and productivity, without compromise. Driven by the evolving needs of the packaging market, the 106 E combines durability with exemplary performance.
The benefits include precise sheet feeding and smooth sheet travel, perfect in line stripping at speed and an integrated quick lock system for fast, simple job changeovers. The optical cut to print register reduces setting times and feed related stops, while delivering outstanding blank register quality.
