At the end of this month, digital and litho printer Orchard Press is to install a new Polar 115 Flowline system, stacklift and jogger. The company, which employs 16 members of staff, has invested in the new equipment to ensure it maintains the high quality its customers’ demand.
Every job starts with the perfect cut. The latest Polar Flowline guillotine system creates a highly precise edge with high throughput. The Polar 115 is great for high speed, high accuracy cutting. With exact jogging and sheet preparation, and automatic pallet stacking, Orchard Press can achieve over 70% more efficiency than with a standalone guillotine.
The company invests in new equipment on a regular basis. Since its inception, it has bought eight printing presses from Heidelberg. This is the third Polar system it has purchased.
The ethos of managing director Adrian Williams is to provide exceptional quality high definition printing for his customer base. He believes that keeping pace with modern technology is essential for any print business to keep its customers satisfied.
Although the pandemic has set some hurdles for Orchard, it has still managed to continue working through the last 16 months. ‘We believe we are in a strong position to come out of the pandemic in a better place, with a strong customer base,’ said Adrian.
The business was founded in the centre of Cheltenham in 1996 and moved to a purpose built facility in Tewkesbury in 2004. It has since grown from B2 to B1, and continued investment in the latest print and colour technologies ensures that Orchard remains at the forefront, in an ever changing industry.
