New Optima RF paper increases sustainability for retail and e-commerce

Paper Solutions Packaging Solutions

Stora Enso has launched Optima RF (recycled fibre), the newest addition to its Optima line, expanding its portfolio of fibre based materials for paper bags.

The new product utilises a 50/50 blend of fresh and recycled fibres to meet the growing demand from retail and e-commerce customers for materials with recycled content that don’t compromise on product quality. By combining fresh and recycled fibres, Optima RF addresses a gap in the current marketplace by supporting circularity ambitions for use cases such as shopping bags and mailer envelopes.

Artur Jerzylo, head of product line, said of the new launch: ‘With the impending regulations sharpening the focus on sustainable practices, Optima RF represents our continued commitment to circular fibre based solutions. This launch underscores our dedication to innovation in sustainability, ensuring that our solutions support customers in navigating the evolving regulatory landscape and meeting their circularity ambitions without compromising on performance.’

Introduced in response to stricter regulations and market demand for sustainable solutions, Optima RF is tailored for a wide range of applications within the retail and e-commerce sectors. In addition, the product meets stringent certifications for food contact, making it a versatile choice for various consumer goods applications such as grocery and takeaway.

The Optima RF line is available across a range of 70 to 110 g/m2, ensuring usability across a wide range of use cases.
