New Biprint Wave: reduced weight corrugated polypropylene

Print Solutions

Antalis has added a new cost effective product to its range of polypropylene Biprint sheets. New Biprint Wave is a reduced weight product with an enhanced flute profile that helps maintain strength in lower thicknesses.

Unlike traditional straight fluting, the flute profile of this grade is manufactured by moving the die to create a small wave design. This gives the sheet more stability at low 3.5 mm/600 g thickness. Using a lighter board also has benefits, such as reduced material usage, transport costs, and cost efficiency. Biprint Wave is a good choice for printers looking to save cost against other 3.5 and even 4 mm grades.

It will be stocked in white 3.5 mm sheets. Bespoke makings provide more choice, including colours and short/long flute wave technology in thicknesses of two to 10 mm in 250 to 2000 g/m2 with a fire rated option.

The Biprint range is Corona treated as standard and is resistant to moisture, strong and lightweight, and completely recyclable after use. This makes it a perfect substrate for outdoor and indoor signage applications. The product can easily be die cut and converted into virtually any shape. It is extruded from polypropylene copolymer, making it much more durable than cardboard.

Paul Neale, product manager at Antalis, said: ‘The new addition is suitable for UV inkjet technology and silkscreen print. It is easy to recycle after use and is ideal for a wide range of applications, including point of sale, short term signs and displays, estate agent signage and even packaging.’
