The BPIF will be celebrating National Apprenticeship Week slightly differently this year – virtually – but nevertheless it is set to be just as exciting and educational as any other. The organisation will be using the virtual Hopin platform to bring together employees and apprentices to get involved, share experiences and meet like minded individuals involved in apprenticeship schemes. Don’t miss out, register today!
The event will take place on the morning of Tuesday 9 February 2021, divided up as a dual conference. One session will be for employers to understand more about how they can support and bring apprentices on board, and the other will be to give current and potential apprentices the chance to understand more about the experiences that other apprentices have been involved with, and will be an opportunity to hear what it is like to be an apprentice.
For employers, the day will include how to get the most out of the apprenticeship levy, plans for jobs and information on how to recruit an apprentice, and ways to offer ‘support for staff wellbeing’ with Sophie Kirby from The Printing Charity.
For apprentices, there will be an opportunity to experience an ‘Intro to Print’ taster session workshop, giving an insight into how courses are run. Plus, apprentices will be sharing their journeys and there will be a talk on wellbeing.
After the dual sessions there will be an opportunity for all attendees, both employers and apprentices, to come together and virtually network with each other – an exciting opportunity to hear and learn each other’s perspectives around apprenticeships and the day.
Charles Jarrold, BPIF CEO, commented: ‘Our industry has a great tradition of investing in developing apprentices to ensure we have the right people with the right skills and attitudes to join and then progress their careers in the sector. Our National Apprentice Week conference represents a fantastic opportunity for us to show the strength of our sector, the depth and quality of the apprenticeship routes available, and to hear success stories from some who have completed an apprenticeship earlier in their careers. It is always an inspiring event!’
