Packaging Solutions
Item Products will be showcasing its extensive range of innovative solutions at this year’s Packaging Innovations show, held at the NEC, Birmingham, on 25 to 26 May 2022. Item is exhibiting on stand F10.
The company will be using the show to update visitors on the very latest products on the market, including the all new ‘Corra-Screw’, a reusable fixing for corrugated packaging. Available in two sizes for both double and tri wall board grades, Corra-Screw is a low cost fixing to bind and release multiple layers of board. Perfect for reusable transit packaging and returnable goods, Corra-Screw can be secured by hand or with a screwdriver, and eliminates the need for tape or staples, thereby reducing damage to packaging.
The product is robust, recyclable and can be made from recycled material and therefore not liable for the plastic packaging tax.
Item Products will also be displaying its wide products portfolio, including Interlock locking clips, which are designed to clip together multiple sections of corrugated board in a heavy duty transit pack. Their use eliminates the need for strapping, which often cuts into board to impair its performance, possibly risking damage to the contents. Other components on show include standard and heavy duty carrying handles that can be recycled in the commercial waste stream, display hooks, euro studs and rivets for point of sale, as well as wheels and stabilisers to provide packaging mobility.
Other items of note will be 100% sustainable paper handles from Persson – a manufacturer of paper and plastic carrying handles and handle applicator machines worldwide. The fully sustainable paper handles are available in more than 100 variations, can hold up to 30 kg in weight and can be produced to suit any box or package. In addition, Box Latch, a reusable carton closure device distributed by Item Products in the UK and Europe, will also be on stand. The Box Latch product enables corrugated packaging to be reused via a simple closure system, as opposed to tape or staples. The device is helping companies reach their waste reduction targets, improve supply chain sustainability and create leaner manufacturing, all with an innovative, low technology solution. Representatives from Box Latch will be on hand throughout the show.
Incorporating strong environmental messages as a core theme, Item Products will be promoting the phrase ‘reuse before recycle’ for all components in their product portfolio, meaning that all items can be reused time and time again before being recycled.
