Print Solutions
Infinite Impressions, a newly established print company based in Poole, Dorset, has made its first significant capital equipment investment by installing a JWEI JCut 2131 cutting table and a Mimaki JFX200-2513 EX flatbed UV-LED printer from CMYUK. This strategic acquisition marks the company’s entry into the digital wide format print market, enabling it initially to produce high impact, short run customised artisanal food packaging and bespoke marketing materials.
Founded by entrepreneurs Adrian Cojocaru and Ionel Stefan, Infinite Impressions began trading on October 1 this year, and operates with a team of five, including two remote graphic designers based in Romania. The company has quickly secured a multinational contract with a high end food supplier also in Romania to provide bespoke, premium packaging solutions, as well as an additional marketing contract within the region.
The decision to invest in the JFX200-2513 EX flatbed printer and JCut 2131 digital cutting table came after a year long research process. ‘We visited numerous equipment manufacturers, attended trade shows, and explored all possible options,’ said Adrian Cojocaru. ‘Eventually, we met Tim Boore (senior digital sales consultant) from CMYUK, who was incredibly helpful throughout the process. We changed our minds several times, looked at other products, and checked with other suppliers, but Tim remained patient and supportive.’

A visit to the CMYUK showroom in Shrewsbury solidified the decision. ‘The experience was invaluable. We could test the equipment and see it in action. We were struck by the capabilities of the JWEI JCut, and I was impressed by how intuitive and easy to use the Mimaki printer was. The capabilities and ease of use of the equipment really convinced us,’ Adrian added.
Infinite Impressions selected the Mimaki for its user friendly design, exceptional print quality, and flexibility. Combining superior quality and high productivity, it prints up to 1200 dpi and features an eight foot by four foot bed. Features include embossed printing that creates a raised textured surface by laying down multiple layers of ink for value added printing. The NCU (Nozzle Check Unit) and NRS (Nozzle Recovery System) automatically detect and recover missing nozzles, while the Mimaki MAPS (Mimaki Advanced Pass System) technology employs an advanced algorithm to print optimal gradation patterns on each pass, significantly reducing print banding.
‘The Mimaki is not complicated to use; it is reliable and versatile,’ explained Adrian. ‘The ability to print up to five layers allows us to explore new product possibilities. In the future, we plan to launch bespoke designed aluminium panels for bathrooms, which will feature designs that customers can personalise. The printer’s functionality will allow us to offer high quality, personalisation products.’
Additionally, Infinite Impressions is exploring other niche products like bespoke wall backsplashes for kitchens, combining materials such as glass and Plexi-glass to suit various applications. The company’s focus on smaller market segments aligns perfectly with the versatility of the Mimaki printer, allowing it to efficiently cater to a diverse range of custom printing needs.
The installation process and after sales support from CMYUK have been seamless. ‘CMYUK has been very responsive – not that we have had any major problems, but any small issues we have had were resolved quickly. It is reassuring to have such a reliable support partner backing us,’ Adrian noted.
Finding the right digital cutting table was equally important. Infinite Impressions requires equipment that can handle a variety of materials while remaining cost effective.
The 2131 has a proposition that has caused disruption within the digital cutting market. Its standard feature set includes an automatic feeding conveyor, 1800 kW liquid cooled router for powerful milling, Auto Tool Changer (ATC), Universal Cutting Tool (UCT), Kiss Cut Tool (KCT), Electric Oscillating Tool (EOT), Crease Wheel Tool (CWT), V-Cut Tool (VCT), and a modularised cutting head that accommodates up to three sets of tool combinations simultaneously. The bed is comprised of separate vacuum zones that secure materials and guarantee complete lay flat consistency for all substrates during production.
In terms of speed, this cutter runs up to 1200 mm per second, the equivalent of 75 metres per minute with a maximum acceleration point of 1G.
While Infinite Impressions’ immediate focus is on custom packaging and marketing materials, the business is already planning for future expansion. It is developing two websites: one dedicated to business to business customers for packaging and signage, and another focusing on consumer oriented products such as personalised front door plaques with house names and numbers.
Looking ahead, Infinite Impressions plans to grow its workforce and potentially invest in a roll to roll printer if the packaging side of the business flourishes.
