i2r launches new premium foodservice range

Packaging Solutions

i2r Packaging Solutions has announced the launch of its new range of premium trays, designed specifically for the foodservice industry. The collection features five key tray options in both silver and premium black and gold finishes. With the added convenience of high quality, transparent clip on polypropylene lids, the range is perfect for any food delivery or quick service restaurant looking to promote its packaging solutions.

At the heart of this new range is the focus on lid functionality and aesthetics. The separate, durable lids ensure a secure fit while providing a clear view of the tray’s contents, reinforcing both practicality and presentation. Unlike flimsy alternatives, the lids contribute to the overall premium feel of the product, making it perfect for customers who value both style and substance in their packaging.

The silver range includes both round bowls and rectangular containers, offering flexibility for a wide variety of food types. All trays are designed to industry standard sizing for compatibility across the sector. The lids are shaped to allow for easy stacking, which maximises space efficiency during storage and transport – an essential feature for busy foodservice operations.

The black and gold range offers an even more elevated experience, with the combination of premium finish trays and clear lids ensuring that the visual appeal of the food is maintained from kitchen to customer. The lids, designed to be leak resistant, play a vital role in keeping the food fresh and intact, regardless of whether it is for a dine in setting or delivery. The containers are not just functional but also photo ready, recognising the importance of social media in the modern takeaway experience. Whether it is a high end restaurant brand or an independent outlet, the table ready black and gold trays offer a premium aesthetic that complements the quality of food, delivering the perfect combination of practicality and style.

Both the trays and lids are highly versatile throughout, suited for use with hot and cold foods. The aluminium containers are heat resistant up to 300 degrees, while the polypropylene lids withstand temperatures up to 90 degrees, allowing for reheating in ovens, air fryers and microwaves. The design ensures durability throughout the preparation, storage and delivery process, giving foodservice businesses peace of mind that their packaging will maintain food quality throughout.

In addition to their practical benefits, the trays are a sustainable choice, made from 100% recyclable and reusable aluminium. This aligns with the growing demand for responsible packaging in the food industry, addressing concerns about food waste and sustainability. The range also features the ‘rinse. reuse. recycle’ message on the lids, promoting a circular economy and reducing environmental impact.

Michael Goor, i2r’s head of new channel sales UK, said: ‘The new premium trays from i2r offer unparalleled versatility and durability, which is critical for today’s foodservice market. The containers and lids are not only designed to maintain food quality and leak proof presentation throughout delivery but are also easy to handle, stack and store. This combination of aesthetics and practicality provides an ideal solution for foodservice businesses looking to elevate their packaging.’

i2r will be showcasing the new range on stand W30 at the Responsible Packaging Expo, being held at London’s ExCel on 15 to 16 October. At the show, i2r’s Michael Goor and Tom Giddings from Alupro will join forces in a seminar focussing on ‘Sustainability and Innovation in Aluminium Foodservice Packaging’; the talk takes place on 16 October at 1.15 pm in seminar theatre 5.
