Get on your bike for charity!

Print Solutions

The British Coatings Federation (BCF) is holding its fourth annual charity cycle, taking place on Friday 28 June.

If you want to take part in the event but are not keen to ride, there are also volunteer and marshal opportunities available.

Not only is the ride a fun day out for all involved, you will helping the organisation to raise money for the Community Heartbeat Trust. The BCF is in partnership with the Community Heartbeat Trust and BT to promote the installation of defibrillators in BT phone boxes across the UK through the Minutes Matter campaign.

Sponsors for the event so far include BioCote, Inx International, Merck Performance Materials, AkzoNobel, Tronox Pigments UK, Dacrylate Paints and U-Pol.

Departing from BCF’s headquarters (Spectra House in Coventry), and taking in the scenic countryside and villages through Warwickshire, there will be three distances available – 100k m, 52 km and 35 km. The 100 km and 52 km rides will require grit and endurance to get to the finish line, whilst the 35 km is a nice gentle ride that will challenge the novice.

The event is not limited to BCF members, and both teams and indiviuals are welcome. Any non members can register via Belle Lake at belle.lake@bcf.co.uk, who will be pleased to help with any queries.

In 2023, the event raised over £19,000 and it is hoped that this year's event will be just as successful. Further information about how you will be able to raise money as a rider will be sent out once you have registered. You will also receive details of the routes and overnight accommodation details for those who would like to arrive the evening before the event.

Note that secure bike storage will be available at the BCF office the night before the ride.
