Fujifilm experiences 85% increase of in-store photo printing sales

Print Solutions

Consumers are looking to print more photos on the high street, according to Fujifilm, after it announced a significant increase in the use of its retail photo printing services.

Since launching its Photo by Fujifilm Kiosk, which features Easy Print software, at its flagship House of Photography store in Covent Garden last year, more than 35,000 photos have been printed. The company has attributed the success to a combination of prominent positioning of the kiosks in its store and an increased desire to print memories, both for personal use and gifting.

The House of Photography store has a total of four kiosks, all of which have re-positioned in the store to be the first contact customers experience when visiting. Since re-positioning in June 2022, the number of prints purchased per day has increased by 85%.

Pairing efficiency with the latest technology, Photo by Fujifilm Kiosk allows customers to print single images from their smartphones, avoiding administration, wait times, and delivery fees associated with online printing. With a footprint of just under a half a metre squared, the software offers retailers the chance to provide instant and affordable prints to customers.

Theo Georghiades, general manager of Imaging Solutions at Fujifilm UK, said: ‘We have developed some excellent technology in recent years which makes it easier than ever to access printed photos. The latest data from our House of Photography store proves the value of printed photos and their recent renaissance as customers look to print more photos, offering significant opportunities for retailers to enhance their customer offering.

‘When we introduced the Photo by Fujifilm Kiosks to the House of Photography, we ensured that they were the first thing people saw when walking through the door. With a user friendly interface, in addition to in-store customer service support, the kiosks offer an exciting prospect for customers looking for physical copies of their digital images that use the latest and greatest in printing technology.’

The success of the kiosks is the latest development in the company’s continued investment in the UK high street. Earlier this year, it announced that work was underway to transform the stores of its independent retail partners to match the new Photo by Fujifilm branding. Adding to consumer convenience, the new Scribbler Lite kiosk was also recently launched, which is set to transform the greetings card retail industry.
