Veronica Heaven is founder of The Heaven Company and Brief Cases, the initiative which ‘bridges the gap between academic study and commercial reality’ and enthuses young people, studying at degree level, to look at this industry as a career option, and support those who are already looking to enter it when they finish their degrees.
Veronica has recently been honoured with the Freedom of the City of London at a presentation ceremony at Guildhall.
Brief Cases works with universities around the UK to encourage students to look at their choices when it comes to design and to think seriously about the benefits of using paperboard instead of other materials. But more than this, it challenges their entrepreneurial abilities and makes them think about the skills they will need in the ‘real world’.
Set within the degree curriculum, the students are given a live brief, which they have to pursue, and come up with an innovative design that could be used in reality.
Veronica previously worked in the paper industry for many years and is an expert on all things environmental and CSR within this industry.
Congratulations on the Freedom of the City of London!
