Durst Group revolutionises Psycho Peacock’s output with double printer installation

Textile Solutions Print Solutions

Psycho Peacock has invested in Durst Group’s P5 350 digital hybrid LED platform and P5 Tex iSub dye sublimation direct to fabrics printer to streamline logistics and provide faster installations for customers as the large format specialist graphics supplier continues to expand its nationwide presence and move into new markets.

A delighted Steve Comar, Psycho Peacock’s managing director, said: ‚This investment gives us the scope and resources to fully deliver on our goals for both graphics and print, across our key sectors: live events, exhibitions and retail for the next three years. We can be assured due to the Durst technology, incredible quality and output metrics, that we can stand by our commitment to continually drive innovation which underpins our values and clients’ needs.‘

Operating for more than 40 years, wide format event and exhibitions printer Psycho Peacock – which employs 26 people at its site at Salford, Greater Manchester – provides a complete service from design to installation for graphics in exhibitions, events, retail, museums, construction and visitor attractions to name but a few. The investments are expected to provide up to six times the previous capacity, with the output from four machines effectively now rolled into the new Durst – the P5 350 – already installed and profiled.

The P5 Tex iSub production printer has opened up new business opportunities with dye sublimation for Psycho Peacock. A sister company to Full Circle Events & Exhibitions, Psycho Peacock says the investment in ‘cutting edge machinery epitomising speed, quality and efficiency’ will revolutionise output.

Andrew Mcintyre, general manager at Psycho Peacock, said: ‘Our in-house experts serve the entire country and our hi-tech production facility is one of the biggest in the industry, allowing us to produce at scale and on time. Our commitment to excellence extends to quicker installation and streamlined logistics. The big thing with the Durst is that it provides the highest print quality, massive extra capacity and flexibility. Dye sublimation is new for us. Obviously, it doesn’t bruise so much, it is more robust and once it is fixed you can flat-fold and send out in boxes. Dye sub also enables us to produce sustainable products, using fully recyclable materials, which means waste never goes to landfill. This opens up new business possibilities in a year when we are already beating our own ambitious sales targets.’
