Durham Box collaborates with Northumbrian Gifts for luxury hamper packaging

Packaging Solutions

Durham Box has recently partnered with Northumbrian Gifts to create packaging for its new luxury hamper range, launched earlier this year. Celebrating its 20th anniversary this year, the family run Ashington based business offers a wide range of authentic, high quality items from the local area, including beer, wine, cider, spirits and local produce.

The packaging design features a wraparound historical map and imagery of Northumbria, crafted from 180cc/120bk e-flute and digitally printed on Durham Box’s Nozomi C18000 digital press. With a tuck in top closure, the design showcases the technical capabilities of the digital press and aligns with Northumbrian Gifts’ sustainability goals of being fully recyclable.

Incorporating the ancient map into the design without omitting any significant details was a challenge that Durham Box overcame, highlighting its meticulous attention to detail.

‘We love the finished packaging,’ said Katrina Wanless, business owner and director of Northumbrian Gifts. ‘It looks fantastic and is multi-use, which our customers appreciate. Feedback has been overwhelmingly positive.

‘Working with the Durham Box team has been a seamless and productive experience for Northumbrian Gifts. The company completely understood my idea and what I wanted to achieve.’

Durham Box’s Sally Caton said, ‘Once again, it has been a pleasure working with Northumbrian Gifts. We are thrilled with the positive feedback from their customers and proud to have delivered packaging that truly enhances their luxury hamper range.’

Northumbrian Gifts plans to continue its partnership with Durham Box on future projects. The next collaboration will focus on updating the packaging for its courier boxes. Northumbrian Gifts is also keen to explore options with Durham Box’s new equipment, anticipating more innovative and high quality packaging solutions.
