Contact Originators celebrates 30th anniversary

Packaging Solutions

Packaging origination and flexographic plates manufacturer Contact Originators is celebrating three decades of flexo success.

The business, now in its 30th year of operation, is using the opportunity to reflect on its success and challenges over the years, while it looks ahead to the future of the industry.

Established in 1992, Contact Originators has matured into its role as a leading name for flexible and corrugated packaging reprographics and platemaking in the UK. The business has steadily expanded its portfolio to offer one of the most comprehensive service packages on the market.

CEO Steve Mulcahy commented, ‘Thirty years in the business is a tremendous achievement. As we all know, the packaging market shifts and adapts at speed and for any business to succeed it takes deep market insight, customer focus and an absolute laser focus on quality and innovation. We have all the goods at Contact, and we are extremely proud of the team we have built as we celebrate this important milestone for the business. In fact, we have a number of team members that have been with us since day one – a fantastic achievement and a real testament to the business.

‘We have a storied history at Contact, including the devastating fire at our Stockport facility in 2020 and our subsequent rebuild, but these challenges set the business on a new path to growth and expansion. Today, our facility in Dukinfield is really starting to shine and the range of prepress technologies we operate has never been stronger, so we’re looking forward to a successful 2022.’

Les Jones, technical director, added: ‘Celebrating 30 years is a huge achievement, and we’re extremely proud of the dedicated Contact Originators family that has made it happen. Today, quality, speed and innovation are front and centre of our business model, understanding our customers’ requirements and delivering sustainable pre-press and print. This ensures our customers are always prepared for today, tomorrow and beyond and we look forward to what the next 30 years will bring!’
