ColourCo moves up to Morgana DigiFold Pro XL

Leading Southampton general print business, Colour Company (ColourCo), has upgraded its creasing and folding capability by installing a Morgana DigiFold Pro XL from Morgana Systems. The new unit joins an existing Morgana DigiFold Pro and a Morgana AutoCreaser.

Commenting on the new DigiFold Pro XL, Kevin West, managing director of ColourCo, said: ‘It is fantastic! We don’t have any spare room here so versatile finishing equipment is an essential. We have had a long standing relationship with Morgana. The equipment is ideal for our needs, and the latest DigiFold Pro XL is an excellent example of that: creasing, folding, perforating – it is amazing!’

With regard to any specific work that the new machine was purchased for, Kevin added, ‘We are now able to produce a six page A5 brochure which has a perforated section on the last page, all in one pass – creasing, perfing, and folding. A real time saver.’

Morgana DigiFold Pro XL is built with an open design, and a suction feeder that handles stock sizes from 210 to 1300 mm in length. This heavy duty automatic creasing and folding system is designed to complement mid to high volume digital and offset production presses. This top of the range model folds up to 6000 A4 per hour, or in ‘crease only’ mode 7500 per hour. It has a maximum loading capacity 200 mm, and a stock range of 80 to 400 g/m2. The top fed vacuum feeder, ensures stable production for long runs. Full cross perforation is also available, along with the ability to add up to five in line perforation/scoring wheels. The machine is able to create up to 30 creases per sheet.

The Morgana DigiFold Pro XL is designed to also complement the long sheet capabilities enabled in the today’s production printers. It features a standard pull out extension that enables sheet sizes up to 1300 mm to be handled with ease.
