ColorStream 6000 and imagePress V1000 take Data Mail Solutions to the next level

Print Solutions

Data Mail Solutions (DMS), a print and direct mail agency that delivers marketing campaigns across a wide range of industries, has invested in Canon’s ColorStream 6000, imagePress V1000 and Prisma workflow solutions to accelerate its digital transformation at its new factory in Crawley, West Sussex.

As brands are experiencing greater pressure than ever before to capture consumers’ attention in a competitive marketing landscape, they must look to cut through the digital noise and connect with audiences in a meaningful way. Direct mail remains one of the most powerful marketing tools, and personalisation is at the heart of this. DMS strives to achieve every customer’s commercial objective by offering tailored marketing products and consultancy every step of the way – from initial concept, through to pack design, size, postage options and incentives and response solutions, offering the complete communications solution and transactional print under one roof.

DMS was the first company in the UK to install Canon’s varioPrint iX3200 in 2020; and these recent installations at its new factory will take its printing ecosystem to the next level. The ColorStream 6000 and imagePress V1000 will increase quality and improve productivity so that the business can keep up with evolving demands across multiple industries.

The V1000 harnesses automation to produce a wide range of applications on different media sizes, types, and weights, while the reliable ColorStream 6000 provides excellent quality for versatile commercial prints. So far, DMS has seen over a 200% increase in its current digital production speeds. Additionally, Canon’s secure Prisma Production workflow tools will provide the business with the data it needs to maximise the performance of these devices, including monitoring, analysis and cost allocation.

Sustainability and end user cost efficiency have been key considerations when choosing what technology to invest in, especially as DMS has been a certified carbon balanced printer since February 2021 and plans to become carbon neutral by 2030. With these new devices, DMS will minimise power consumption and waste, reduce its environmental impact and ultimately futureproof the business.

Simon Smode, CEO, Data Mail Solutions Limited, commented: ‘With our new Canon devices and solutions, we are confident we will be able to achieve our business goals and stay committed to exceeding our customers’ expectations. We will be able to take on larger volumes of work, while ensuring that our quality remains unmatched and costs remain low. As our first choice supplier, we appreciate our strong relationship with Canon and the team’s clear communication throughout the installation process. We are looking forward to working closely with them in the future.’

Stuart Rising, head of commercial print at Canon UK & Ireland, added: ‘We are delighted to be supporting Data Mail Solutions during this exciting time of growth. By enhancing its automation processes, the ColorStream 6000 and imagePress V1000 will enable the business to reach the next level of digital productivity, giving it the capacity to work with new and existing customers like never before.’
