Packaging Solutions Label Solutions
A B Graphic International (ABG) is offering innovative solutions with its Radio-Frequency Identification (RFID) converting portfolio that meet the increasing demand for efficient asset tracking systems. With a reliable range of RFID converting equipment, the company enables businesses to seamlessly incorporate RFID tags into their labels, offering operational efficiency and accuracy.
RFID is transforming industries by offering seamless tracking and identification of products through a combination of microchips, antennas and RFID readers. This technology allows for optimal, hands free tracking of assets, thereby making processes faster, more accurate and more cost effective. As demand increases, companies such as US based label manufacturer and long time customer, Abbott Label, are significantly investing in RFID. In a move that emphasises the increasing importance of this technology across industries, the company recently announced the opening of a specialised RFID converting plant in Nashville, Tennessee.
Abbott Label has been a customer for over 25 years; over that time, ABG has provided reliable and innovative equipment to support its operations. The company currently operates five ABG machines, all of which continue to run effectively even after decades of use. The latest investment, a 13 inch (330 mm) RFID converting line, represents a significant increase in production capabilities. The system is designed to handle high speed RFID inlay insertion across multiple substrates, label sizes and packaging applications.
Commenting on the reliability and performance of the equipment, Mark Davenport, RFID plant manager at Abbott Label, said: ‘I feel that it is the highest producing, fastest solution in the market today. ABG’s equipment is rock solid. All the equipment I have bought over the last 24 years is still efficiently running today.’
Solutions such as those in production at Abbott Label are bespoke RFID converting lines, engineered for large scale production. These systems support multiple lanes and varied web widths, with modular designs that can be customised to specific operational needs, ensuring flexibility and scalability in RFID label production.
ABG also offers an entry level solution, the Omega Ti200, designed to insert RFID and EAS tags into labels in a single pass and process up to 1000 labels per minute. It is ideal for businesses entering the RFID market because it is equipped with advanced features such as anti-static technology to minimise dust attraction and dual web guides for superior web control.
