Print Solutions: Positive About Print
The Printing Charity continues to support people during this unprecedented health emergency by helping existing beneficiaries and sheltered home residents as well as responding to new requests for help.
Print Futures Awards 2020
The Printing Charity’s annual Print Futures Awards offers the chance for those aged 18 to 30 working in UK print related organisations to apply for grants of up to £1500 to help develop their careers.
This is a great chance for people to invest in themselves and develop their practical and personal workplace skills, including softer skills that can often be overlooked such as presentation skills and leadership. Online courses are a great way to still complete additional training whilst being at home and as offered some top tips on its website.
Applications for the awards are open until the 26 April, so there is still time to apply online here.
Practical and emotional support
The Printing Charity is here to help those who work in the print, paper, publishing, packaging or graphic arts sectors. If you are concerned that your staff need help navigating the challenges we are all currently facing, the charity can offer industry members access to its 24 hours a day, seven days a week helpline service, giving staff and their immediate families (over 16, in the same household) access to a dedicated, telephone based, practical and emotional support service. The helpline offers a good first step for anyone with questions or concerns around any aspect of life, whether it be budgeting, mental health or Covid-19.
Emotional Support calls will be answered by British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) trained counsellors and will allow you to discuss anything that is troubling you, from relationships to stress. The team will offer in the moment support, and where appropriate signpost you to cognitive behavioural therapy, face to face counselling or other organisations able to provide additional support.
Practical advice calls will be answered by Citizens Advice trained information specialists, Monday to Friday 8a m to 8pm. The team can help find practical ways forward when you feel unsure of what to do or just overwhelmed by problems.
Business leaders or managers should get in touch to find out more about sharing the helpline with their teams. Please contact Sophie at the Charity on sophie@theprintingcharity.org.uk
