ADF&PCD and PLD Paris 2020 reveals new features and attendees ahead of show

Packaging Solutions

ADF&PCD and PLD Paris 2020, the dedicated event for the aerosol, dispensing, perfume, luxury drinks and cosmetic packaging community, is in the final stages of preparation. Taking place next week, the international trade show is set to enjoy its best attended year to date.

Pre-registration has increased on last year’s numbers, with a large uplift in drinks brands from across the globe such as Diageo, Pernod Ricard, Wine Treasury, Organic Spirits Denmark, Rémy Cointreau, AB Inbevand Edrington, amongst others. This can be credited to the addition of PLD – Packaging of Premium and Luxury Drinks – which was created and co-located with ADF&PCD this year. ADF&PCD’s pre-registration has also increased across all its various traditional sectors, as a result of more high quality, diverse content than ever before.

ADF&PCD and PLD Paris 2020 has been developed to help cross disciplinary brand teams become more involved in packaging projects to innovate and reimagine their packaging as a team – whether they are in the design, marketing, packaging development or buying functions.

As such, a new VIP delegates programme has been unveiled, offering meeting rooms to some of the industry’s leading brands who send full teams. Brands sending full teams include L'Oréal, Coty, Groupe Clarins, Procter & Gamble, Unilever and more. The meeting rooms are designed to improve the brand experience and provide the perfect backdrop for business to be done away from the hustle and bustle of the main event.

The show will also debut several new features to ensure it is an experience worth remembering, beyond the informative content. ADF&PCD and PLD Paris 2020 will greet visitors with its own official scent, alongside an Art Trail, live DJs, and the PLD Cocktail Bar, complete with signature PLD cocktails, Mixology Hours and Olfactory Workshop sessions.

In addition, a diverse range of new products, services and initiatives are being lined up for display on the show floor – a sizeable focus for 2020 drills down into sustainable solutions. Just a snapshot of what exhibitors have in store includes:

Pozzoli will unveil its 100% sustainable, plastic free 2020 calendar. Its inner and outer wraps comprise 30% responsibly recycled deinked pulp, 60% woodfree primary pulp and 10% cotton fibres. The inside pages are printed on responsibly recycled paper, and the calendar is held together with wooden loops, rather than plastic ones.

Rissmann will set out its new green agenda. The packaging expert will announce a new line of products, under the ‘Greenious’ umbrella, which comprise just one source material: paper.

Lindal Group is set to detail its Mini Engine platform. It helps clients reach market with sustainable new actuator designs that make use of post consumer recycled resins. The group will also showcase two brand new actuator products, both compatible with BOV technology: Teo, a universal design used for antiperspirants and deodorants; and Olive, designed for edible oils, and featuring a soft touch finger pad.

Virospack will premiere its new powder dispensing system for two component extemporary products. The Dumoix Turn & Shaken mixes powder with liquid formulas or liquid with liquid, complete with a novel design and greater capacity.

Kapag set to launch a new range of premium paperboards for the packaging of fine wines and spirits. Titled Spirit Compilation, the line comprises seven premium qualities, with a minimum waste paper content of 50% and a plastic free silver quality that can be disposed of alongside other standard paper waste products. The move follows massive customer demand.

Josh Brooks, event director at ADF&PCD and PLD Paris 2020, said: ‘As we gear up for this year’s event, pre-reg numbers are even healthier than the previous edition, and we have seen a notable growth in attendance from the C-Suite. PLD has brought in a whole host of exciting new names alongside major brands for ADF&PCD – some brands are sending in excess of 100 attendees demonstrating the important part the event plays in facilitating collaboration within internal teams and the wider packaging community.

‘We have put a particular focus on quality and customer experience this year, and we have put a lot of effort into making this year’s show more useful and more enjoyable for visitors and exhibitors alike. We recognise it is a focal event in the calendar for brands and suppliers to come together to network and get deals done. To that end, we have tried to make this as easy as possible by introducing dedicated meeting rooms for those brands sending large teams to the show.’

ADF&PCD and PLD Paris 2020 takes place on Wednesday 29 and Thursday 30 January 2020, at Paris Expo Porte de Versailles. You can pre-register attendance for free here and save the onsite fee of €60.
