Birtwell & Co adds Polar technology to its diverse guillotine portfolio

Print Solutions

Birtwell & Co is adding a Polar guillotine, taking delivery of the Polar N92 Plus model. It retains a Perfecta and Wohlenberg but believes Heidelberg offers the best guillotine option with the Polar this time round. This decision comes just two years after the Lancashire trade printer made a switch to Heidelberg digital technology.

The guillotine will be used to cut a wide range or print, including NCR books and pads, from both Heidelberg litho and digital technology as well as its Edelmann business forms presses.

Matthew Birtwell, managing director, said: ‘We particularly liked the colour touchscreen and the programmability on the Polar. We have very experienced operators so the switch of technology will be very easy to manage and we will have training from Heidelberg as part of the installation process. We will run the guillotine on a double day shift basis.’

The company is based in Clayton-Le-Moors, employs 50 staff and is FSC accredited. It has a reputation for confidentiality and very fast turnaround times.
