Cepac continues growth at Rawcliffe site

Packaging Solutions

Cepac has continued to grow the capability of its Rawcliffe facility with new appointments to the senior management team, continued site improvements and increased facilities to design, produce and supply specialist products.

A key appointment has recently been made within the team with the promotion of Nigel Hobson to the role of sales and commercial manager. Nigel brings over 25 years experience to his new position and his key task is to drive sales into additional added value areas for growth, fitting well with the site’s expanded capabilities.

Operations have been strengthened considerably by the appointment of Lee Worley as operations manager enabling the site to build a highly skilled team focused upon new innovations and sustainable packaging across a wide range of sectors. Lee has over 30 years’ experience working in the corrugated packaging industry, 17 of those with Cepac.

These new appointments are part of the company’s on-going investment at the Rawcliffe site which saw the completion of a £2 million expansion of a new production/warehousing facility last May and £1 million improvements to the plant’s existing roof earlier this year.

Coupled with the additional drive these new appointments will bring to the strategic expansion of the business as a whole, these improvements are instrumental to the site increasing its UN Accreditation status and now offering both 4G and 4GV packaging.

The UN range also includes a brand new innovation with a ‘crumple zone’ inclusion, thus further strengthening the offering in the hazardous goods sectors. The site offers design, testing and manufacturing of a range of liquid packs for industrial chemicals and agrochemicals.

Regarding the growing UN market, Nigel Hobson said: ‘We have seen a marked increase in interest in UN packaging which has stemmed from Cepac Rawcliffe’s technical offering into this very complex market place.

‘Recent developments include a unique pack offering enhanced protection with the addition of a crumple zone, which is receiving great interest across the client base.’

Richard Moore, general manager at Cepac Rawcliffe said: ‘The continued investment in people and our plant at Rawcliffe means we have a fantastic team to reach many new customers and increase our service offering to our existing customer base. Our focus upon innovative corrugated packaging solutions across a wide range of sectors provides our clients with market leading cost effective solutions across multiple product requirements.’

Cepac works across four UK plants in Darlington, Rawcliffe, Doncaster and Rotherham.
