IndPrint Print Solutions

A contest that invites developers and designers to challenge 3D printing with their creativity has been launched by Weerg.

The award promotes innovation and experimentation culture in design manufacturing. With this objective in mind, Weerg, a ‘Made in Italy’ platform that offers online CNC and 3D processing, has announced the second edition of the ‘Weerg 3D Printing Project Award’ contest. Contestants can win a coupon of €500 to spend on Weerg.com.

The company provides developers, designers, and creatives with the largest Italian installation of HP MJF 4210 3D printers, to create an iconic object completely printed in 3D.

The last iteration of the competition in 2017, was won by Alex Coppola, a student studying product design at La Sapienza University, who came up with a lamp of great design that was able to fully highlight the performance of HP printers implemented by Weerg.

For this new edition of the competition, in addition to the gift voucher, the company will offer the winner an interesting visibility opportunity, allowing them to ‘star’ in a professional video, made in English and Italian, that will promote his/her designer skills, which Weerg will give highly promote on its social platforms.

‘After the success we obtained last edition, we decided to put to test once more our recently doubled and enhanced production department, and to give visibility to the most creative talent in 3D Printing,’ explained Matteo Rigamonti, Weerg.com founder. ‘The Weerg Award was created to stimulate the potential and the desire to innovate of tomorrow's designers who are starting to come face to face with the opportunities offered by additive manufacturing. In addition, it will allow us to maximise the performance of HP printers by creating very original and sophisticated items.’

Designers can submit their project until April 14 2019 by posting it directly on the company's Facebook and Instagram pages. The winner will be announced on Monday, April 15.
