Packaging Innovations 2019 announces partnership with Industrial Pack

Packaging Solutions

Industrial Pack, the UK’s only dedicated show for industrial, transit and protective packaging, is set to make its debut alongside Packaging Innovations, Empack and Label&Print at Birmingham’s NEC on 27 and 28 February 2019.

The protective and transit packaging industry is forecast to be worth £3.7 billion in the UK next year, cementing itself as an integral part of the global packaging supply chain. Introduced specifically for this growing market, Industrial Pack gives industrial packaging buyers and specifiers a home to source new suppliers, network with peers and learn about the latest trends and challenges in the sector.

James Drake-Brockman, director of Easyfairs’ Packaging Portfolio, said: ‘We are excited to unveil Industrial Pack at this year’s show. The industrial packaging sector is a huge part of the supply chain, and a sector that we have seen huge growth in interest in at our event. As such, it is a natural extension of our offering to bring Industrial Pack to the show. This, along with a host of other exciting new show features, will ensure that we are able to deliver more packaging solutions than ever to our visitors.’

The dedicated Industrial Pack zone will play host to a range of global exhibitors, many of whom will be using the show to launch new products and services to the UK market. For instance, Nittel will be displaying its new vessel liners, designed to offer greater protection for large containers up to 1500 litres and provide a clean interior for the vessel surface. The liners can be made bespoke to fit the exact internal measurements of containers to provide an airtight fit. Plus, they are simple to fit, EU and FDA approved. The new design also cuts the labour costs involved in cleaning out containers and omits the need for cleaning chemicals and disposal costs.

Cog Containers will debut its new Cog Drum, designed and manufactured to overcome the inherent problems of standard drums on the market. The new design allows the drums to interlink with each other, making them extremely stable on a pallet, removing the need for shrink wrapping. The unique shape also provides the drums with greater strength allowing them to be stacked higher and heavier. As well as reducing the packaging waste created by shrink wrap, the Cog Drums are also re-useable and 100% recyclable.

One of the leading manufacturers of thermoformed plastic packaging, Nedupack, will present its custom designed blister packs, trays, interiors, buffer caps and other packaging for fruit, vegetables and the wider food industry.

Also joining the show will be Benoplast, which is set to showcase its range of crates, pallets, and containers for the transportation and storage of products throughout the food, agriculture, automotive, logistics, chemistry and textile industries. Made from PP and PE raw materials, Benoplast offers a recyclable solution for industrial packing needs.

James concluded, ‘Industrial Pack is a fantastic addition to this year’s show and gives us the opportunity to offer our visitors an even wider range of packaging technologies and solutions. With over 300 exhibitors on the showfloor, there is guaranteed to be something for everyone.’
