A full order book and a positive market outlook have resulted in Lessebo Paper now ramping up the production, from 100 tonnes to 150 tonnes per day. This is a large investment in both time and money, and the mill is looking positively at the future.
‘Now we are building for the future,’ said Eric Sigurdsson, CEO of Lessebo Paper.
The production has been good during the last year, but after recruiting new operators and finished several improvements in production, the mill is now able to further increase its production capacity. ‘We have worked hard to make several improvements on our paper machines, as well as training 15 of our new operators to be able to move to full shifts,’ explained Eric. The mill now operates all machines 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
In addition, the company has been strengthened by the appointments of Johan Pleijel as the new head of production, and Eric Sigurdsson taking on the role as CEO at the beginning of the year. Both hail from the automotive industry, which has come a long way in the optimisation of production, tying in well with Lessebo Paper’s growth plans. Furthermore, the company has promoted Carina Jensen from export sales to the new head of sales and marketing.
With a stronger management and three paper machines in full use, the mill’s capacity has increased by 16,000 tonnes per year to meet the needs of the company’s premium paper customers. ‘We can give our customers an unparalleled service now and we have a confident outlook on the future, concluded Eric.
