After significant investment and only a year in the making, Spectra's extended manufacturing unit is now fully operational.
The new 24,000 square foot facility has been fitted with the latest machinery and busy meeting customer demand as Spectra's managing director Joe Maynard has confirmed.
He said, ‘Our rapid growth meant the completion of the new unit couldn't come quick enough for us. Although our staff have worked incredibly hard meeting unprecedented demand, our new manufacturing facility has allowed us breathing space to ensure we continue to satisfy that growing demand.’
With construction work commencing in May 2017 and completed by March of this year, the new unit has enlarged the existing site by 50%, effectively doubling Spectra's manufacturing space.
With the addition of new machinery, installed to service all manufacturing departments, Spectra has invested in new injection stretch blow moulding machines, extrusion blow moulding and injection moulding machines. The company’s busy dedicated print department has also benefited from the addition of new machinery to further meet demand.
Joe see's regular investment as vital in driving Spectra's continued success and maintains the company's ambitious growth plan to double in size by 2020 is well on track.
He commented, ‘The on-going investment we have made has helped the business grow significantly in a relatively short period of time. However, that doesn't mean we will rest on our laurels. Our 2020 growth initiative continues to drive us and the completion of the new manufacturing unit is a testimony to hard work, brave decisions and a forward thinking ethos.’
Spectra's 2020 growth plan has set a target of 15% growth per annum, however, with 9.5% achieved in 2016, 32% in 2017 and a strong 2018 thus far, the company continues to go from strength to strength.
Joe said, ‘We are fully aware that our ambitious growth strategy can only be achieved with the appropriate investment and infrastructure.’
He added, ‘That is why we have made a number of provisions to help us develop innovative new products, manufacture responsibly and strive for continuous improvement. These include further investment, staff recruitment, expansion and the installation of the latest cutting edge machinery. All of these factors help the company remain fresh, agile and ready to meet future demand.’
