Print Solutions

bakergoodchild has invested in a Kern 3500 high speed mailing technology system, further adding to its growing production plant equipment.

With confidence in the use of direct mail continuing to improve, and due to bakergoodchild’s continued growth in this sector, the printing and mailing management specialists saw this new investment as an essential piece of equipment to help provide quicker turnaround times, vital to its 24 hour turnaround capabilities.

The new Kern mailing system will further increase the company’s capacity to handle larger mailing orders at even quicker turnaround times. With the demand in direct mail showing no signs of slowing down, bakergoodchild has been experiencing busier times than ever before. Therefore, it has worked closely with Kern to get this new mailing system integrated and optimised for its demand requirements.

The 3500 is a high speed inserting system that combines advanced technology with Kern’s experience and customer driven development.

Meeting the demanding needs of today’s high volume mailer campaigns, the Kern 3500 provides greater flexibility, shorter production times, increased differentiation and automation. It also helps improve handling mail efficiently at even the highest speeds. It can handle up to 52,800 sheets per hour, has a high capacity loader for up to 8000 sheets, and has an inserter and sealing module capable of processing both DL and C5 envelopes.

bakergoodchild operations director Wesley Sinclair stated, ‘Purchasing the K3500 for me has shown how much bakergoodchild has moved on over the last five years. Not only will this machine help improve capacity, but it will also help with our growth strategy allowing us to despatch work even more quickly and efficiently than how we are currently. Its great being part of a fast growing company and Kern has helped us along the way with its technology and being on standby as and when required.’
