Innovative label manufacturer, Source Labels has launched Utroque, a patented double sided labelling system defined as the ‘most significant breakthrough in label manufacture for half a century’.
A revolution in eco friendly printing, the technology uses both sides of the release liner and will benefit all label applications, in particular, the ‘hand applied’, ‘food to go’, logistics and FMCG sectors.
Tim Lowe, Source Labels managing director, said: ‘The biggest environmental and cost reduction label innovation in 50 years, the unique Utroque double sided solution also offers huge benefits in terms of responsive, streamlined operations.
‘The user of double sided labels will reduce their release liner consumption by 50%, material weight by up to 40% and realise further savings on reduced stock movements and logistics while shrinking the company’s carbon footprint. There is also a probable cost reduction up to 25% alongside the market kudos of supporting green practices.
‘Simple but effective, Utroque’s bilateral printing really is a compelling win-win.’
Utroque technology can be added to existing labelling lines with minimal or no adjustment, no decline in productivity and no capital expenditure, enabling hassle free implementation.
To understand the enormous potential of the double sided innovation, if all the world’s labels were converted on the Utroque system, the liner saved would go around the globe more than 1000 times, delivering lower resource, energy, transportation and waste disposal needs, as well as emitting less pollutant across the entire supply chain.
