Newtech Glasgow launches new AI experience for visitors

Print Solutions

Newtech is launching the very first Artificial Intelligence Printing Trade Exhibition at Newtech Glasgow April 18 to 19.

All the stands will only be ‘manned’ by the latest advances in extremely lifelike robotic technicians specially programmed with each of the exhibitor’s technical details and facial characteristics.

They will also be able to provide personal demonstrations, answer over 20 questions and hold ‘normal’ conversations.

Martin Morrissey, managing director of Newtech, said: ‘The most difficult part of the preparation and programming was to encode the robots with how to sup a pint in the bar – it got messy, but we cracked it eventually.’

All of the equipment for the show is being delivered by a fleet of specially prepared drones taking off from Biggin Hill Aerodrome.

If you prefer talking to real people, the show will be opening at 6 pm on Wednesday April 18 for a special evening session until 9 pm, then Thursday April 19, 9 am to 4 pm. Newtech’s series of 10 nationwide local practical workshops offers printers, garment decorators and graphic shops an exciting range of new business opportunities and the latest techniques.

The Newtech nationwide series of practical workshops includes the most extensive and exciting combination of new opportunities for printers of any local show in the UK.
