PPB acquires NE Plastics

Print Solutions

PPB has announced the acquisition of NE Plastics.

PPB is an independently owned national distributor and convertor of point of purchase materials and substrates to the screen print, digital, large format and industrial plastics markets. NE Plastics is a well known and respected flat sheet plastic supplier and bespoke fabrication specialist in the south of England and it shares many of the same founding principles as PPB.

The purchase of NE Plastics will introduce both NE Plastics and PPB’s customers to new products, new services and further business opportunities. Both companies have expertise in fabrication, cutting and various other finishing processes of plastics and boards and will be offering these extended services to both new and existing customers.

The south of England is an important growth region for PPB, and it has been looking for an opportunity to build upon the success of its existing Thurrock operation. The purchase of NE Plastics will provide PPB with the opportunity to expand plastic sales in the London area, especially south of the river.

Richard Proctor, director of PPB Ltd, stated: ‘We are delighted to welcome NE Plastics to the PPB family. NE Plastics is a great business with a reputation for good service and honest dealings. This acquisition will allow customers to benefit from a wider choice of products and services, including state of the art conversion facilities. Stock levels and servicing will be enhanced by our national distribution network serviced by a new fleet of vehicles. Customers can be assured that it is business as usual, but with the on-going security of dealing with a larger scale business that is investing in this growing sector.’

The combining of these two companies will take the group turnover to over £30 million.

PPB is one of the biggest independent point of sale distributors in the UK and has been supplying print substrates to the sector for 40 years. In the last few years it has been successfully distributing thermoplastics and ACMs to the sign trade. The acquisition of NE Plastics is a continued investment in the distribution of signage materials. The products and services of NE Plastics are complimentary to those of PPB.

Nick Warne, managing director of NE Plastics, stated: ‘The purchase of NE Plastics by PPB is a very strong signal for continuity and an additional reason for complete confidence in us as a supply partner.’
