The Printing Charity is calling for entries to the 2018 Print Futures Awards. Grants of up to £1500 are available to help people aged 18 to 30 years pay for recognised UK training courses for careers in the UK printing, paper, publishing, packaging and graphic arts sectors or to develop their existing workplace skills in those sectors.
The Awards are open to UK residents, who:
Intend or are studying for a UK printing, paper, publishing, packaging or graphic arts qualification.
Work in UK print related organisations and want to undertake short courses to develop their careers.
Are apprentices or studying for NVQs in UK print related organisations.
The closing date for applications is midnight on 29 April 2018. For more information and an application form, please see https://www.theprintingcharity.org.uk/print-futures-awards/
Neil Lovell, The Printing Charity’s chief executive, said: ‘Since 2009 the annual Print Futures Awards have helped 236 young people train and progress their careers in the industry. This year our focus is on attracting more applications from people working in the industry, particularly those in UK based SMEs, as well as apprentices and those studying for NVQs.’
Shortlisted applicants will be interviewed in London in early June by a panel of judges drawn from across the industry sectors and winners will receive their awards in London in July.
This year’s Print Futures Awards are sponsored by Saxoprint, The Book Trade Charity and Unite the Union GPM and IT Sector, and supported by the British Printing Industries Federation (BPIF), the Journalists’ Charity and St Bride Foundation.
