Kingsmoor Packaging produce rPET container for Costa’s festive club sandwich

Packaging Solutions

Somerset based Kingsmoor Packaging has worked with the Adelie Foods to produce a premium thermoformed rPET container for Costa Coffee’s club sandwich product. The lightweight clear pack, featuring a base and lid design, was produced to launch Costa’s Christmas sandwich menu.

The leading thermoformer, a previous Adelie Foods’ supplier of the year, provide the convenience food group with plastic packaging primarily for its Food to Go (FTG) requirements, covering mostly salads and sandwiches that are destined for major retailers and coffee outlets such as Costa Coffee. Manufacturing food grade packaging solutions in APET, PP and HIPS – as well as rPET, which contains at least 50% post-consumer recycled waste and at least 30% industry recycled waste – the company provides customers with a flexible and cost effective single source service.

Kingsmoor Packaging’s James Hill said, ‘We really value our long standing relationship with Adelie and it is always great to work with the company on exciting new packaging projects like the Costa club sandwich. Christmas is notoriously a challenge for retailers and their supply chains, so it is always satisfying to see the packs that we have produced, successfully delivered and out on retailers’ shelves.’

A spokesperson for Adelie said, ‘As a supplier, Kingsmoor Packaging continues to provide high quality products and a service distinction that sets it apart. Our business is very demanding especially during the Christmas period and long lead times just don’t exist. Working alongside suppliers like Kingsmoor helps us meet seasonal challenges head on.’
