Print Solutions

Collating machinery specialist Col-Tec has won a contract to supply Heidelberg with five new collators.

The deal, worth approximately £230,000 and secured against strong competition from German competitors, sees the collators being shipped, alongside Heidelberg printing presses and other finishing equipment, to the education ministry in Saudi Arabia.

Col-Tec’s Paul Bailey said, ‘We are delighted to be progressing this contract for Heidelberg, which has taken over two years to come to fruition. Having beaten off intense competition from two other German collating machine manufacturers, winning the contract suggests that despite the Brexit vote, ’brand GB’ remains as strong as ever.’

The first six station collator has already been delivered to Heidelberg in Germany. The remaining four are due to be shipped during September and October.

A spokesperson for Heidelberg said: ‘Col-Tec proved to be the best solution for us in delivering this contract. Its collators are robust, providing a reliable and consistent performance – prerequisites for our customer.’

Hampshire based Col-Tec has been at the forefront in the manufacture of horizontal suction feed collators since 1975. Through its worldwide distributor network, the company provides solutions for all types of collating jobs, manufacturing highly versatile suction feed collators, booklet makers and associated optional equipment.

The company will be exhibiting on stand E500 at Ipex (31 October to 3 November 2017 at the NEC, Birmingham).
