New features announced for Packaging Innovations

Packaging Solutions

New initiatives and a revamped seminar format will be launched at Packaging Innovations and Luxury Packaging London 2017, which returns to Olympia on 13 and 14 September. The new developments will run alongside a series of established show favourites, all offering a powerful and educational programme of interactive features and invaluable advice for the senior decision makers and buyers in attendance.

New for 2017, in a world exclusive, Packaging Innovations has partnered with the Pentawards. The event will see the launch of the Pentawards Conference. Brands and agencies speaking include Diageo, Coty, Design Bridge, Butterfly Cannon, The Cabinet Agency, Bulletproof and SharpEnd. It will consider the current trends, themes and issues facing packaging designers of today, with key topics including ‘packaging design in the goldfish era’, ‘designing for a new generation’ and ‘technology enabled creativity’.

A new seminar format will be introduced for the show’s Keynote Theatre programme, allowing more focus to be placed on the packaging industry’s key markets. This includes The Food Forum, which will be hosted by Martin Kersh, executive director of the FPA, and will feature industry leaders such as Just Eat and Marks & Spencer.

The Drinks Forum will show attendees how to create innovative and attractive packaging that will succeed in a crowded market. The Beauty Forum will give visitors the opportunity to hear the latest ideas and issues from leading beauty brands, covering everything from evolving packaging trends and smart packaging through to packaging for on and off line products. Finally, The Luxury Forum will explore how to craft iconic packaging that delivers the luxury experience.

The Innovation Showcase returns by popular demand to highlight the most cutting edge solutions from within the packaging industry. Shortlisted exhibitors will display their latest innovations and technologies on the show floor, and attendees will be able to vote for their favourite.

Also making its return will be the Packaging Consultancy Clinic, providing visitors with the opportunity to gain one to one personalised advice on any aspect of their packaging.

There will also be an expert cartoonist on hand, at the Innovation Wall, to share visitor’s ideas and frustrations on the subject of innovation, providing the perfect platform to hear the thoughts of the industry.

Finally, there will be a drinks reception for all of those visiting the show, providing an opportunity to network with contacts, colleagues and exhibitors.
